Eight years after self-releasing “The End” in 2013, John Holmes returns with another full-length that dives deeper into club territory using his trademark emotional hooks and pop sensibility. After failing to reach his goal of using “The End” as his break- through to launch his career, showing his personal emotional take on dance music and boosting his eclectic DJ sets, John Holmes sunk deeper into his depression and, while continuing to gig in Lisbon, started to experiment with other genres, never releasing anything since.

The pandemic hit everyone in the club scene hard and John Holmes realised he had some tracks that were begging to be placed one after another, to be heard. As an exercise in loneliness and perseverance, he decided that the music spoke louder than what other people thought, that the emotions contained in these songs had to be released to be absorbed and heard: whatever it takes.

Emotional, heartfelt, eclectic. Loud and groovy basslines. Memorable melodies and versatility. “Break My Soul” is a journey, a moment of groovy introspection and body-moving.
